Badgers are legally protected under the Protection of Badgers Act 1992 and is in place to prevent activities such as badger baiting. This law makes it a serious offence to kill, injure, interfere or take a badger. Any proposed development site needs to be assessed for any active badger setts, with the appropriate remedial action taken place. This species is often found during the initial Phase 1 Habitat Survey or Preliminary Ecological Appraisal. However, should the species be found, further action may be necessary. Our surveyors at Elite Ecology are very experienced at surveying for badger setts and can offer expert advice to clients.
We are licensed to carry out badger surveys in Staffordshire and anywhere else in the UK and our prices for badger surveys start at £250.
