Badgers

Badgers are legally protected under the Protection of Badgers Act 1992 and is in place to prevent activities such as badger baiting. This law makes it a serious offence to kill, injure, interfere or take a badger. Any proposed development site needs to be assessed for any active badger setts, with the appropriate remedial action taken place

This species is often found during the initial Phase 1 Habitat Survey or Preliminary Ecological Appraisal. However, should the species be found, further action may be necessary.
